Can I become a member? 

Of course you can! You can become a member if you meet the following criteria from our constitution: 

 "Membership in CAYD shall be open to any resident of the City of Charlottesville or the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Nelson, Madison, Orange, or Greene who is age 13 to 35 and who believes in the principles of the Democratic Party. No person shall be denied membership on the basis of race, gender, religion, economic status, national origin, or sexual orientation. At the discretion of the executive board, individuals who meet the above criteria and reside in a locality with a border within 75 miles of the City of Charlottesville, and whose locality does not have an existing VAYD-chartered chapter, may be eligible for membership. "
