PRIVACY POLICY
Effective date: 30-Jul-2026
Code Qalandar we built the CutShortz: Video to Shorts app ("the App", referred to as "CutShortz" throughout this policy) as a free, ad-supported app. This page explains what information the App accesses, uses, and discloses to anyone who chooses to use it.
By using CutShortz, you agree to the collection and use of information in line with this policy.
### 1. Information We Do NOT Collect
CutShortz does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information to use the core features of the app (splitting, cropping, merging, and exporting videos).
### 2. Your Videos and Media
- When you pick a video, CutShortz uses Android's built-in Photo Picker, which lets you choose a video without granting the app broad access to your entire media library.
- All video processing (scene detection, cropping, trimming, merging, and exporting) happens **entirely on your device**. Your videos are never uploaded to us or to any server we control.
- Exported clips are saved locally to your device's public `Movies/CutShortz` folder (or your device's Gallery/Files app), so you can find, share, or delete them like any other file on your phone.
- On Android 9 and below, the app requests storage write permission solely to save exported clips to that public folder; on Android 10+, this isn't needed because the app uses the modern scoped-storage APIs.
### 3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
CutShortz shows ads through Google AdMob to support free use of the app. AdMob may collect and use certain data — such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, and general device information — to serve and measure ads, including to show you relevant ads and to detect invalid traffic.
- We do not receive or store this data ourselves; it is collected and processed by Google in line with [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) and the [Google AdMob Publisher Policies](https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543).
- You can review and adjust your ad personalization settings at [Google Ads Settings](https://adssettings.google.com/).
- On supported devices, you can also reset or opt out of your device's advertising identifier from your Android system settings.
### 4. Notifications
CutShortz can show a notification while a video is being processed (split, cropped, merged, or exported) in the background, so you know the app is still working and can tap it to return to the app. This notification is generated entirely on your device and is not tied to any external service.
### 5. Data We Store Locally
The app keeps a small local database (on your device only) of the clips you've created, so they can show up in the app's History screen. This database, your theme preference, and whether you've completed the welcome screen are stored locally using Android's standard app-storage APIs and are never transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the app removes this data.
### 6. Children's Privacy
CutShortz is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
### 7. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party service, which may collect information used to identify you:
- **Google Play Services (AdMob)** — [Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy)
### 8. Data Security
Since your videos and clips are processed and stored locally on your device, their security depends in large part on your device's own security (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date.
### 9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because CutShortz doesn't collect personal data on our own servers, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device (e.g., deleting a clip in the History screen, or uninstalling the app, removes the associated local data). For anything related to advertising data, please use the Google links in Section 3.
### 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. You're advised to review this policy periodically.
