1. Permissions & Data Access

To provide video editing, AI-powered features, and background processing, VideoEditAI may request the following Android permissions:

Media & Storage

Permissions: READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Purpose: These permissions allow you to import, edit, preview, and export your photos, videos, and audio files. Unless you explicitly use a cloud-based AI feature, your media is processed locally on your device.

Microphone Access

Permission: RECORD_AUDIO

Purpose: Allows you to record voiceovers, narration, and custom audio directly within your editing projects. Recorded audio is used only for the features you choose to use.

Notifications

Permission: POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Purpose: Enables notifications related to video exports, background rendering, and other important application events.

Foreground Services

Permissions: FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC

Purpose: Allows long-running tasks such as video rendering and exporting to continue reliably while the application is running in the background.

Advertising ID

Permission: com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID

Purpose: Used by Google Firebase and related Google services for analytics, performance measurement, crash diagnostics, and app improvement. We do not use the Advertising ID to sell your personal information.

2. Information We Collect Automatically

When you use VideoEditAI, certain non-personal technical information may be collected automatically through integrated Google Firebase services, including:

• Device model and manufacturer

• Android operating system version

• Screen resolution and device language

• App usage statistics and feature interactions

• Session duration and navigation events

• Performance metrics and network diagnostics

• Crash reports and diagnostic logs

• Firebase App Instance ID

Cloud-Based AI Services

Some AI-powered features (such as AI script generation, automatic captions, or content analysis) may securely transmit user-provided prompts or selected media to Google AI services (Gemini) through encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.

This information is processed only to generate the requested result. We do not use your content to build personal profiles or sell it to third parties.

On-Device Machine Learning

Certain features run entirely on your device using technologies such as Google ML Kit and TensorFlow Lite, including:

• Background removal

• Subject segmentation

• Beat detection

• Audio rhythm analysis

For these features, your original photos, videos, and audio files remain on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

4. How We Use Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Provide and maintain the application's core functionality.

• Import, edit, process, and export video projects.

• Deliver AI-powered editing features.

• Improve application performance, reliability, and stability.

• Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes or technical issues.

• Deliver feature updates and configuration changes using Firebase Remote Config.

• Google Play Services – Core Android services, app distribution, updates, and billing.

Local Storage

Your imported media, editing projects, timelines, and exported videos remain stored locally on your device unless you explicitly choose to use a cloud-based AI feature.

Secure Transmission

Whenever data is transmitted over the internet, it is protected using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption.

Data Retention

We do not maintain user accounts or permanently store your personal media files on our servers. Exported videos remain on your device until you delete them.

7. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You may delete your local application data at any time by:

Settings → Apps → VideoEditAI → Storage → Clear Data

or by uninstalling the application.

You may also reset or disable your Android Advertising ID through:

Settings → Privacy → Ads

8. Children's Privacy

VideoEditAI is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it promptly.
