Every single turkey killed is memorable in some way, it could be a child's (or adults) first bird, The one with the longest spurs or beard, the way the turkey did, or did not respond to your call, the one the attacked the decoy etc. 

Most of us want to preserve some part of that bird to preserve the memory of that particular hunt. My son's first bird had 4 beards and placed 4th in the Pirate Classic youth hunt. In that case we opted for a full body mount strutting. It is an impressive sight and I'm glad we did it but it was not cheap and takes up a lot of room. A fan is a good inexpensive option but how much wall space are you willing to devote to one more fan. 

 A customized wingbone call made from the actual bones of your trophy is a great way to preserve the memory of your bird. Each one is unique in the way it runs and the design.
