David Curtis began as an apprentice to a master woodworker in the tiny town of Pentwater, Michigan. Sweeping floors of the workshop as a 12 year old, over the next 6 years he learned the mastery of woodworking literally from the ground up.

After moving to Texas in 1992, he had to choose between buying tools and buying furniture. David bought tools, and built his own custom pieces. Shortly thereafter, Curtis Custom Woods was born.

Its mission: to build both beautiful and functional works of art.
