PRIVACY POLICY — Cursor Custom
Last updated: June 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Cursor Custom Chrome extension ("Extension", "we", "us") handles information when you use it.
1. SINGLE PURPOSE
The Extension lets you browse cursor packs and apply a custom mouse cursor on websites you visit in Chrome.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email address, or payment details inside the Extension.
The Extension may store the following data locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local:
- your selected cursor pack and cursor size
- whether custom cursors are enabled or disabled
- the built-in catalog of cursor collections and packs
- extension settings (for example, the active popup tab)
- an anonymous random identifier (uid) created on first install
- install and update timestamps (di, du)
- extension version information
This data stays on your device unless you remove the Extension or clear extension storage in Chrome.
3. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT
The Extension does not:
- read or collect the text you type on web pages
- collect browsing history for advertising
- sell personal data
- use analytics or advertising trackers inside the Extension code
4. NETWORK REQUESTS
The Extension may connect to the internet to:
- download cursor image files (PNG) from our CDN (for example, cdn.cursor-helper.com)
- load the built-in collections catalog bundled with the Extension
- open custom-cursors.com after install or update, if you keep that tab open
These requests are used only to provide cursor images and related content. Image requests do not include your personal profile.
5. PERMISSIONS
Host access: used only to apply your chosen cursor style on pages you visit after you enable the Extension and select a pack.
Storage: used to save your settings and cursor catalog locally.
Tabs: used to open the welcome page after install or update and to refresh the cursor on open tabs when you change settings.
6. EXTERNAL WEBSITES
If you click links in the Extension popup (for example, "More Cursors" or "Create Cursor"), you leave the Extension and visit custom-cursors.com or related sites. Those websites have their own privacy policies.
The Extension may receive messages from approved partner domains listed in the Extension manifest (custom-cursors.com and related cursor-helper domains) to add or update cursor packs you choose to install.
7. DATA RETENTION
Local Extension data remains on your device until you uninstall the Extension or clear its storage in Chrome settings.
8. CHILDREN
The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. CHANGES
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
