Carina Petras

carina tate petras was born as the youngest of three children, in avery, montana, to tatum and elsbeth petras. as their third born and a girl none the less, they were less than thrilled. however, thanks to the preaching of a high priest, they do try to find purpose. the petras family is immersed in a religious cult based in a polytheist faith, striving to connect with the gods in order to save themselves. they're willing to do anything to achieve this, including submit their children to become swords of the gods.

carina petras lives in a big sky, montana. one of the few settlements that has managed to sustain itself in aftermath of the outbreak. this settlement is believes they will be saved, as the chosen people. this is only reinforced when carina is bit while running off to follow her brothers into the forrest. she was 6 at the time. 

because of her age, and the begging of her brothers, carina was left to turn so she could give her goodbyes. however, the turn never came. this miracle was believed to be evidence of the favor their people had. 

the secret of her immunity is kept until she is a young teen. when she is 13, they begin to send out disciples to bring more people to the settlement in hopes of growing their community. after all, they needed more bodies for labor, they needed more bodies to procreate and keep their lines alive. however, they did not expect this to draw others to their settlement. some who would like to take carina away.

important notes

• this verse impllies that there is more than one person with immunity, which to me seems likely. however if you don't want to incorporate that, i'm happy to make another version where she is not immune.

carina petras lives in zaun, however she is sponsored by an illustreous family in piltover to study the old faith. she lives with her family in a converted warehouse, home to a secluded, religious cult. this cult worships the arcane and has been trying to access the power of it for their own means, under the guise of saving society. they use runes and items touched by the arcane in attempt to connect to the arcane, binding them to their children to turn them into weapons.

similarly to carina's canon, this is a torturous assault that is inflicted on young children. including carina. this process has never worked in zaun, however thanks to a latent mage genes it actually works when carina is torn into. she is then utilized as a way to get people to join the cult. her ability to harness and caontrol energy in a pretty, harmless looking way she is a great show pony.

as she was raised in this, she truely believes there will come a day that she's meant to do something great. 

important notes

• there are likely rumors about her out in zaun, but the extent of her abilities and what she can do is kept secret because they want to protect her and the cult

• the cult is partially interested in the liberation of zaun, however, in their ideal world they'd like to be the ones in control. and themselves ).

•  she is exceptionally over powered because in her canon she is essentially a demigod

• her ability is energy manipulation abilities that manifests as light, as well as enhanced healing. she doesn't know the extent of her power.

• she's naive, and very very sheltered so probably easy to manipulate. have fun.
