Meet the Cast

The Cast of The Rainbow Fish!

Grace Clary (Ensemble) is 11 years old and a student at Berry Shoals Intermediate School. Grace has been acting and performing since she was 5. Grace was most recently seen as Alice in SYT’s production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical Jr. She loves to sing, act, and hang out with her friends. She is very excited to be in The Rainbow Fish and wants to thank Maddie, the rest of the team, and her family for all their support.

Alyssa Goodenough (Ms. Minnow) is thrilled to be making her SYT debut! She has been in several theatre productions at Spartanburg Christian Academy and Gaffney Little Theatre. Some of her favorite roles include Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and Chattering Chipmunk in Peter Pan. Alyssa is an 8th grader at Spartanburg Christian Academy where she is on the middle school cheerleading squad and is the president of Jr. Beta Club. She loves to sing, dance, and act. Alyssa would like to thank her family and friends for their support. She would also like to thank SYT for this opportunity.

Reese Green (Rainbow Fish) is excited to be in her second SYT production! She was last seen in A Christmas Carol. She is a 6th grader at Berry Shoals Intermediate School. She won 1st place in a state competition in duet improv acting this past March and is active in her school's drama team. Reese would like to thank DeAndra Sosa, Hannah Shadburn, Maddie Tisdel, Adam Sanders, Connor Vetter, Ashley Crane, and her parents.

Ellie Hendon (Sardine) is thrilled to be back onstage with SYT after making her debut last year as Leroy in Dragons Love Tacos. She remembers loving the book The Rainbow Fish when she was younger and is excited to help bring this story to life! Ellie would like to thank her parents and her cats for their love and support (and snuggles).

Gloriana Howard (Starfish) is elated to be in this show! She has participated in many SYT productions, her favorites including Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat (Sally), Alice in Wonderland (Alice), and Dragons Love Tacos (Kid in Suit). She was most recently seen onstage as Ghost of Christmas Present in SYT’s A Christmas Carol. She would like to thank her friends and family for their support, the creative team for making the show look incredible, and all her castmates for being the sweetest!

AnaRuth Lowry (Pufferfish) has enjoyed a variety of theatre opportunities and loves it because of the community and friendships. Outside of the stage, she is a diligent student and compassionate friend. She believes the stage is a beautiful place to inspire and to give joy to others, so she likes the challenge of performing a variety of roles and has performed in over 20 shows since she started. She is thrilled to be performing again with SYT.

Penelope McDaniels (Ensemble) is so excited to be in her first SYT production!  Previous roles include Squirt in district 6’s production of Finding Nemo Jr., ensemble in district 7’s production of Disney's Frozen, and various plays at Pine Street School.  Penelope would like to thank her family, her friends, and Becca for their support and encouragement!

Grace Mitchell (Hermit Crab) is thrilled to return to the SYT stage following her 2022 performance as Tessie in Annie Jr.  Having returned from 7 months living in Australia in 2023, Grace is now a 6th grader at McCracken Middle School. She is a two-time school spelling bee champion, member of Mensa, and Harry Potter enthusiast. She loves to make everyone laugh, especially her three siblings, and is filled to the brim with gratitude for this chance to perform!

Ben Rodriguez (Ensemble) is really excited to be in his second SYT production. He most recently played Bruce in Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical Jr. He is a 4th grader at Woodland Heights Elementary School. In his free time, he likes to play video games and read Harry Potter. Special thanks to his sister Selah for inspiring him to act.

Selah Rodriguez (Clownfish) is excited to be in her third SYT production. She most recently played Matilda in Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical Jr. and had a blast! She is a 6th grader at Dawkins Middle School and enjoys playing violin, reading, and doing art in her free time. She would like to thank all the people who have encouraged her and helped make it possible for her to do theatre.

Bella Scott (Octopus/Ensemble) is a 10th grade homeschooler and is ecstatic to participate in SYT's production of The Rainbow Fish. This was her favorite book growing up and she is so happy that she can now share it with you. She has participated in many shows and was last seen onstage as Kid in Suit in Dragons Love Tacos. She is so happy you came and hopes you enjoy the show!

Keaton Smith (Little Fish) is ecstatic to return to the SYT stage. She is in the third grade at Wyldesyde Academy Homeschool. Keaton enjoys learning foreign languages, reading, and all kinds of science. Her current ambition is to either be a librarian, a dentist, a teacher, a theatre director, or maybe all four! Keaton loves spending time with her huge family and hanging out with friends. She would like to thank her family for their support and all her directors and theatre friends for an amazing community.

Stephen Wilson (Ensemble) is thrilled to be making his SYT debut.  A sixth grader, Stephen loves singing, acting, and playing the piano and violin.  He loves the challenge of creating unique designs using engineering skills he learns from Mark Rober. Stephen has been involved in track and cross country for four years.  He also enjoys reading and watching great movies!
