The add-on might not be activated in your document. To fix it try one of these options:
Make sure you have installed the add-on and select in the menu Add-ons | Currency Converter | Use it in this document.
Follow Google Help instructions, the section Turn add-ons on and off .
Reinstall the add-on.
Usually it happens when the function is used in a lot of cells. Try using a single formula instead and pass a range of values:
=CurrencyConverter(A2:A41, B2:B41, C2:C41, D2:D41).
If it is not your case, try close the document and open it again.
Unfortunately, we cannot fix it at the moment in order to it is a Google issue. To avoid the error, use the toolbar menu Add-ons | Currency Converter instead of the sidebar. Other option is being logged in one Google account only (in Incognito window, for example).
In some countries, arguments in formulas should be separated by a semi-colon (;) instead of comma (,). To fix the error try replacing commas with semicolons. For example:
=CurrencyConverter(100; "USD"; "EUR"; "2/28/2020").
