Founded by Tacoma-based stylist and Matrix Artist Casey Cutter who is an independent contractor at Angelo Mendi Salon, this chair was created with one mission in mind: to help people of all textures understand, love, and care for the hair they were born with. While curls and coils are at the heart of my name, I specialize in all hair types and patterns — because great hair isn’t about trends, it’s about health, education, and confidence.

Curls & Coils is currently a solo-run brand — but this is just the beginning. The long-term vision is to grow into a full-service salon and education hub that trains and mentors new stylists after graduation. This will be a place where artistry, business, and personal development come together to build careers that actually last.

Meet Casey
Stylist • Educator • Founder of Curls & Coils
Hi, I’m Casey Cutter — a licensed stylist, educator, and the heart behind Curls & Coils in Tacoma, WA. With over 13 years of experience behind the chair, I specialize in haircutting, curl care, and helping people of all hair textures feel confident and informed about their hair. While curls and coils are at the center of my name, I proudly work with all textures and patterns, offering personalized cuts, styling, and education to every guest in my chair.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked as a salon leader, textured hair specialist, and cosmetology educator. I’m also a proud Matrix Artist, regularly teaching and learning within one of the top professional brands in the industry. My passion for education shows up in everything I do — whether I’m guiding clients through a styling routine or helping new stylists grow their skills with confidence.
Curls & Coils is more than a brand — it’s a vision in progress. I’m currently building the foundation for a full-service salon and mentorship space where future stylists can train, grow, and learn how to build sustainable, healthy careers in beauty.
Outside of the salon, I’m a Mexican-American wife and mom to three amazing boys. I love visiting my family in Mexico, spending time with my grandpa in Eastern Washington, gardening, celebrity gossip, and eating all the watermelon things I can get my hands on. My life is full of love, culture, laughter, and a whole lot of hairspray — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
