Curious Literary Gals is a community built by all of us. While Kel keeps things organized behind the scenes, the magic of this group comes from members bringing their own interests, creativity, and ideas.

There is no expectation to volunteer or take on a leadership role—simply showing up, sharing your thoughts, and connecting with others is already a valuable part of the community.

For those who enjoy helping behind the scenes, we offer flexible opportunities to collaborate, contribute ideas, and make Curious Literary Gals feel even more welcoming, creative, and fun.

Member Participation

Once you attend a monthly meeting, you are part of the Curious Literary Gals community—welcome!

Participation can look however it feels comfortable for you. You might:

• Share a creative presentation about something you've been reading.

• Join the discussion or simply listen and enjoy.

• Recommend books, events, or activities.

• Connect with other members and help welcome new faces.

• Bring your own curiosity and enthusiasm to the group.

There is no "right" way to participate. We value readers, listeners, creators, and everyone in between.

Venue Explorer

Do you enjoy discovering cozy places and local events?

Help us find great spaces for gatherings, including libraries, coffee shops, bookstores, and other bookish locations. This role may include suggesting ideas, helping coordinate reservations, or exploring new places around Columbia.

Event Helper

Love planning fun experiences?

Collaborate on special gatherings like book swaps, seasonal parties, literary outings, and other book-inspired activities. This can be as simple as sharing ideas, helping decorate, or assisting with event details.

Social Media & Outreach Helper

Enjoy connecting people and sharing information?

Help spread the word about Curious Literary Gals events by sharing announcements, creating event posts, answering questions, and helping others discover our community.

Creative Contributor

Love design, photography, or visual storytelling?

Help create graphics, take photos at gatherings, or contribute creative ideas that help showcase our community online and through our website.

Meeting Host

Enjoy facilitating conversations?

Meeting Hosts help guide our monthly gatherings by welcoming attendees, helping organize the flow of discussion, and creating a thoughtful and engaging experience for everyone.

Hosts do not need to be experts—just someone who enjoys helping conversations happen.
