Cup of Hope is a grassroots social impact project born from the heart of the Gitothua community in Ruiru, Kenya.
What began as a few neighbors sharing food with local children has grown into a daily lifeline for more than 150 kids—and up to 250 during school holidays.
Each afternoon, children aged 5 to 18 gather in our welcoming space to share a nutritious meal, receive mentorship, and participate in enrichment activities such as chess, boxing, football, creative play and after-school tutoring.
For many, this is the safest and most supportive environment they experience all day.
Our goal is simple yet powerful: keep children in school, off the streets, and filled with purpose.
By combining meals, education, and positive role models, Cup of Hope helps young people build confidence, discover their talents, and envision a future beyond the challenges of poverty, neglect, or domestic violence.
Driven entirely by community love and volunteer dedication, Cup of Hope proves that small acts of care can create lasting change—one meal, one mentor, and one child at a time.
