18 hole Tournament
2025 Cupertino Rotary Golf Classic Rules of Play
1) The tournament competition is among foursomes and has a shotgun start at 11 AM
2) Each foursome choses to play in a scramble format or best ball format.
3) Women play from the white tees, men from the blue tees
4) You must “hole out” – no gimmies allowed.
5) Prizes awarded for closest to the pin Hole #10. Competition for both Men and Women
6) Longest Drive- Hole #12: Competition for both men and women
7) Hit the Ball in the Circle- Hole #7 and Hole #17, for an optional $5 entry fee you win a sleeve of balls by hitting a ball in the circle makred around the pin.
8) Scramble format:
a. All players of the foursome tee off
b. The foursome pick the best drive position and all four players hit their second shot from that position.
c. And so on until the ball goes in the hole
d. One score is recorded per hole for the foursome.
e. At least three of each player’s drives must be used.
f. No handicaps are used
g. Prizes awarded for low all-ladies group, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 10th overall
9) Four ball format:
a. Each player plays their own ball from tee until holed out.
b. USGA handicaps are used. If the player has no USGA handicap, then a handicap of 16 is used for that player.
c. The two low net scores for each hole are added and that’s the group’s score for the hole
d. The sum of the 36 scores is the group’s score for the round.
e. Prizes awarded for low all-ladies group, low mixed group, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 10th overall
10) Yellow ball game
a. On each hole, one of the foursome plays with the yellow ball.
b. Rotate the yellow ball player in the order of names on the scorecard.
c. If your ball goes in the water or is lost, you are out of this competition.
d. If your group hasn’t lost its yellow ball before the end of the round, you’ll be entered in competition for the yellow ball prize.
