COVID-19 Help

3/22/2020

Greetings Cummington Community,

I know that in this difficult time, many of us are already reaching out to neighbors to offer assistance. Many of us are feeling isolated and wondering how we can give or receive help. At this time, our Cummington Area (CERT) Community Emergency Response Team is partnering with the community to create a cooperative help network. Until we have assessed the needs of community members and volunteers, we cannot commit to specific actions. However, some likely volunteer tasks may include meal delivery, prescription pick ups, companionship phone calls, and other things as needs become apparent.

At this time, our priority is gathering information on what folks need so we can best mobilize resources to meet that need.

Please take a moment to fill out a community needs survey here if you are able; CERT will also be conducting phone surveys and wellness checks in the next couple of days.

If you have an interest in helping your neighbors in a coordinated effort, please fill out this volunteer match form.

If you need something during this time such as help with groceries, prescription pick up, or a friendly voice on the other end of the telephone please email CummingtonCERTCVHelp@gmail.com, and refer others to do the same.

Additionally, for those without Internet access, please feel free to call either of the following phone numbers:

  • Pat Keith (CERT Neighborhood Volunteer Leader, and Village Church Liaison)

413-563-1981

  • Sarah Fournier-Scanlon (CERT Coordinator/Team Leader) & Lee Fournier-Lewis (CERT Member, and Administrative Assistant)

413-634-5452

All help calls to these phone numbers will be logged.

To be clear, this is a network for non emergency needs and assistance. If you are experiencing an emergency please dial 911. If you have a non-emergent safety concern please contact the Cummington Police Department at 634-0056.

Looking forward to working with everyone in service to our community. Please spread the word!

Be Well & Stay Safe,

Sarah Fournier-Scanlon, CERT Coordinator/Team Leader
