Club Activities

The beauty of bushwalking is that you grade it to suit your own needs and capabilities. There are the experienced walkers who like to explore the wilderness on overnight / longer trips or those who simply enjoy an easier day walk.

We have walks on every weekend (as well as occasional midweek walks), ranging from easy to harder day walks and overnight and longer pack walks. We also do longer touring trips from a week to 4 or 5 weeks to various locations around the country (last year we went to Tasmania for 4 weeks). Canyoning and kayaking trips are also carried out by the club. There are always walks on the program for those who are new to bushwalking and interested in trying it out, in a safe and friendly environment.

We walk in different areas from the Blue Mountains / Wollemi National Park and all areas surrounding Sydney, as well as further afield. Some sample walks and activities are:

Bob Turner’s Track, Colo River (day walk and swim)

McDonald River Canoe trip (day canoe trip)

Evans Crown Nature Reserve near Lithgow (day walk to rocks like Devils Marbles NT)

Kowmung River (overnight walk with pristine rivers)

The Oaks fire trail bicycle ride. (day mountain bike ride)

‘Christmas in July’ in the Blue Mountains (camping weekend)

Canyon (summer lilo trips)

Day and overnight walks in the Snowy mountains

Extended trips to places like Tasmania and Kangaroo Island.
