A Day Retreat

Cultivating Presence

with Jennifer Bleicher

The Mindful Librarian

PRESENCE - "The state or fact of existing, occurring, or being present in a place or thing”

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

In order to live our best lives, we need to embrace each day with awareness, acceptance, and gratitude. Too often, we attach stories to our experiences, draw comparisons, or seek to control external situations. Other times we miss out on the magic of our current situations by being consumed by guilt and regret of things past, or fear and anxiety about the future. We fail to listen to, honor, and care for our bodies while we live primarily in our “thoughts.” We forget our origins and our place in the natural world by interacting solely in artificial or digital environments.

Participants in this five hour retreat will learn scientifically proven strategies for optimal living through the following modalities:

Mindful Meditation

Our State of Mind

Hatha Yoga

Our Physical Condition

Shinrin Yoku

Our Place In Nature

Literary Analysis & Journaling

Our Connection to Others

Throughout the retreat experience we will explore quotes, passages, and poetry reflecting the perspectives and experiences of others on their own mindful quests for developing presence. We will journal our reflections.

Jennifer’s unique splicing of wellness strategies and techniques foster the cultivation of presence and are the result of years of study and practice.

Formal and informal mindfulness practices, gentle yoga for all skill levels, activities to promote a deeper connection to source through interactions with nature, and a deep dive into spirituality and nature-themed poetry and literature have led to the formation of the immersive experience:
