Spine Indie Bookstore & Cafe is a consignment bookstore stocked exclusively with indie authors and publishers, a small cafe, and a literary event space designed to foster conversations in a safe environment.
                                                           
Write Outside Your Door is a free writing competition co-sponsored by the Missouri Botanical Garden and Gateway Writing Project that authentically integrates creative writing into the science and English language curriculums.  
Write Outside Your Door invites students from grades K - 12 and adults to write about their experiences outside, with nature, and as stewards of the environment.
                                                           
Write Out (#writeout) is a free two-week celebration of writing, making, and sharing inspired by the great outdoors. It is a public invitation to get out and create that is supported with a series of online activities, made especially for educators, students, and families, to explore national parks and other public spaces. The goal is to connect and learn through place-based writing and sharing using the common hashtag #writeout. 
GWP partners with Gateway Arch to create a unique local experience.
                                                           
We focus on independent book store best sellers, small presses, timeless fiction and timely non-fiction, as well as anything else that catches our fancy.
We’re woman-owned with a tiny staff of 7.  We’re all avid readers and are always excited to make recommendations or talk about what you just read.

The purpose of the Missouri Literacy Association is to improve the quality of reading instruction at all level, to support the efforts and activities of local councils in Missouri, and to coordinate literacy development efforts with other organizations. 
Our journal, The Missouri Reader, is a scholarly journal published quarterly as a resource for our members. The articles are written by nationally recognized authors, literacy researchers and instructional leaders as well as by local literacy researchers, veteran classroom teachers, beginning classroom teachers and graduate students.
