Local Author, Amy Arnason

Meet local children’s book author, Amy Arnason, at the Gateway Writing Project conference. Amy has worked in various aspects of education for almost 20 years, with a focus on language arts. It was during her coursework towards a Master’s Certificate in the Teaching of Writing (which she obtained through UMSL), that she wrote the manuscript for her book, Mixed-Up Mabel.
Book summary:
Mabel was born with her right ear on the left side, and her left ear on the right side! With mixed-up ears, Mabel sometimes hears mixed-up things! During one very mixed-up day, Mabel finally begins to appreciate what makes her different as she learns to better understand others.
Mixed-Up Mabel is a silly story that adults will love reading with children. It is available through most major retailers and through in-person signing events, and will also be available for purchase during the conference. In addition, a drawing will be held for one lucky winner to receive a signed hardcover copy of the book. (Must be present at the conference to win).
