Conversational User Interfaces (CUIs) offer new opportunities for accessibility and engagement, but they also introduce challenges related to bias and fairness. This workshop aims to critically examine bias and fairness in CUIs by exploring their conceptual, verbal, non-verbal, and interactional dimensions. We will discuss the theoretical foundations of bias in conversational AI, investigate methodologies for identifying and mitigating biases in linguistic and multimodal interactions, and address the ethical considerations for designing fairer CUIs. The workshop will feature keynote talks from experts in the field, paper presentations, and interactive discussions that bridge technical insights with conceptual and social implications. By fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration, this workshop seeks to advance research on equitable conversational systems, ensuring that CUIs serve diverse populations with inclusivity and transparency. Participants will contribute to an ongoing dialogue on responsible AI design, to shape future CUIs that respect social values and user diversity.
