Happening now!! Leaning into Kinship: Engaging in Critical Scholarship & Praxis
How do we think about navigating your institutions (teaching, department, service) with current issues and in the political climate of your institutions?
How do you make your research decisions (e.g., questions, methods, citational practices) that align with your commitments to justice?
What does care (self-care, community care, collegial care), look, sound, and feel like?
If you could speak to CUFA as an org or its membership, what advice do you have for us to be more engaged and organized to support one another?

Greetings CUFA community members!
We are pleased to share the official schedule for the 2023 Annual CUFA Conference set to take place in Nashville, Tennessee this fall.
Centering cacophony and world-building compelled us to think differently about the overall schedule. As you encounter the different sessions, we encourage you to consider how each assemblage reflects the overarching theme of cacophony and our subthemes related to world-building.
As Program Chairs, we intentionally worked to resist traditionally thematic paper/roundtable groupings in an attempt to create a conference experience that cultivates (re)new(ed) connections and unexpected relationships. Of note, each paper and roundtable session features a (linked) title name inspired by a locally owned/operated business. We encourage you to learn more by clicking the links and perhaps patronizing these wonderful coffee shops, markets, bookstores, bakeries, restaurants, etc. if/when possible.
We remain hopeful that the flow of the conference will also allow more folks to attend both the Graduate Forum and the Scholars of Color Forum sessions on Thursday. We are also (beyond) thrilled to share that we have also been working with NCSS organizers and CUFA’s own Dr. J.B. Mayo to form two exciting and connected “crossover” sessions on Friday (9:30 AM and 10:40 AM). Additionally, our Research to Practice Sessions are set to unfold on Friday and Saturday; we hope you can stay in Nashville to attend these sessions as well—helping the CUFA community build (re)new(ed) connections and worlds.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and look forward to being in community with everyone in (late) November!
