CueForge – a small Vaults cue generator 🎬
Some of you might remember Randomixer, a little app I shared earlier that simply picked a few random Crow Hill Vaults libraries. It was fun, but I started wondering if it could become something more musically useful.
So I evolved it into CueForge.
CueForge generates a simple 3-layer cue foundation using Vaults instruments:
• Foundation – harmonic bed
• Motion – rhythm / movement
• Colour – melody / texture
Press Generate Cue and the app spins three slot-style reels to suggest a quick scoring palette. The idea is to spark combinations you might not normally try.
I also added cue styles (Ambient, Drama, Action, Hybrid, or Other) that slightly bias the selection while still keeping things playful and surprising.
The app will naturally evolve as new libraries arrive. Each new release simply gets added and immediately becomes part of the generator.
It’s a small tool, but I’ve already found it a great way to kickstart ideas when staring at an empty session.
If anyone has ideas for improvements, I’d love to hear them!
Happy scoring 🎼
