So you are an early childhood educator looking around for coding/programming products to use in your classroom? Look no further! I've been implementing a wonderful set of robots called Cubetto. You should only be experiencing excitement at this point, however, in case you are anxious or nervous, I have created this online learning experience to show you how Cubetto works and why it is the right robot for your early childhood classroom. Before you begin my online unit, you only need to bring your enthusiasm! Some basic skills you may rely on as you begin this learning experience include: a basic working knowledge of how to navigate through a web page, a very simple understanding of how coding/programming are intertwined with robotics...that's it!!
By the end of this unit, you will be able to: describe how the programming pieces work with the interface board to interact with Cubetto, identify where to find additional educational resources for Cubetto, compare Cubetto to other early childhood programming products, generate at least three ideas for how you can use Cubetto to meet learning objectives for students, and identify how you can write grants to help you acquire Cubetto. When you have accomplished these goals, you will be able to determine Cubetto is the right product for your classroom and you will be able to implement Cubetto immediately once you have acquired the robotics. You may return to this resource and add to this resource as you gain confidence using robotics in the early childhood classroom!
