The following are figures related to curvature calculated with CUBED scripts.

Instantaneous 300-hPa curvature radius (km) at 06z23Jan2017. Z300 (m; black contours) and scalar wind speed (m^2/s^2; purple contours) are superimposed.
** Since we do not assume that horizontal winds are nearly rotational near the equator, curvature and curvature radius are masked in the Tropics in the above figures.
