We are Cub Scout Pack 78 of Bayville, NJ! Our pack consists of boys and girls from Kindergarten through 5th grades from various area schools including Bayville, Pine Beach and Ocean Gate.
Cub Scouts are full of energy! Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the scouts doing fun activities with a purpose. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den, an age specific group, in which the Den-Leader provides activities for the scouts to complete. In addition to den meetings, we have a monthly meeting of the larger group, called the Pack.
Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, lessons on good citizenship and a scout's sense of belonging are created through: the Scout Oath and Scout Law, the Cub Scout sign, salute, handshake and motto.
Parent/Family Involvements: Scouting offers a unique environment for parents and guardians to get actively involved in their sons' lives. Cub scouting is not a drop-off program. Parents are expected to stay and help out at scout meetings. Cub scouting in our pack is very family oriented; many activities allow siblings to join in. You will find that your family will experience more family outings after joining Pack 78.
What to Expect: One pack meeting each month, during the evening. The night is determined on the availability of our families. 1 or 2 den meetings a month, day and times are coordinated by the den leader. 1 optional pack activity each month.
Parent Participation: We ask that all parents and guardians help the pack. Involvement can be as little or as much as you like but participation is expected. This is not a drop off program.
Fundraisers: We run both den and Pack fundraisers to help our scout "Pay their way" in scouting. We believe this will help them learn at an early age about money management and prepare them for future financial wealth.
