Cub Scout Pack 604 welcomes all children (boys and girls) from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Most of our Scouts are from the Hamden area but all are welcome. We are a 100% volunteer-run Cub Scout pack that helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that will influence their adult lives.
We are a family program. Family involvement is essential to Cub Scouting's success. We're sensitive to the realities of present-day families. Many Cub Scouts do not come from traditional two-parent homes. Pack 604 is chartered by the Dayspring Masonic Lodge #30 of Hamden, CT.
The Pack is divided into smaller groups called Dens. Your child’s den is determined by his or her grade level and gender:
Lion - Kindergarten
Tiger - 1st Grade
Wolf - 2nd Grade
Bear - 3rd Grade
Webelos - 4th Grade
Arrow of Light - 5th Grade
Most of our Dens meet on Tuesday night from 6:00-7:00pm at Dayspring Masonic Lodge, however Dens may also meet at a time and place of their own choosing.
The Pack (all Dens) meet as a group on the third Tuesday of the month. The Pack Meeting allows us to celebrate as an entire Pack. At these meetings we recognize all Scouts who have earned awards in the previous month. (Parents: You must notify your Scout's Den Leader of any awards or recognition your child has earned on his or her own.) Most Pack meetings have activities scheduled as well to entertain the families and develop friendship across the dens.
Pack Meetings are held at Dayspring Masonic Lodge. Our meetings do follow the Hamden Public Schools calendar, and we do not meet on school holidays. Meetings begin at 6:00pm unless otherwise noted. We utilize a very limited calendar for June, July, and August activities (typically one optional activity per month).
