Dues email

Pack 44,

I’m writing to inform you about a change to the dues payment process for the 2024-2025 scouting year. In years past, the pack has collected your registration fees, and then made a single payment to BSA. This year, and moving forward, individual families will be responsible for paying their fees directly to the BSA. Please keep an eye out for an email from BSA about renewing registration, and complete it in a timely manner.

Here are the instructions provided by the council:

Beginning 60 days before their expiration date, individuals will receive an email from the National Council that will prompt them to renew their registration. To renew this way, simply:

• Click on the link in the email that will direct individuals to my.scouting.org to renew the registration. You can also go to my.scouting.org to and click the red notification button on the top right-hand corner.

• This will direct individuals to pay online and renew their registration in a few clicks.

Important Info:

• Parents will have to create a my.scouting.org account if they do not have one already. Please check with unit for Member ID#. For parents with multiple Scouts, they will only need to create one account as my.scouting.org has already linked their member ID with all their children. If parents discover this has not happened, simply contact the Registrar at the Coastal Carolina Council Service Center -Kendra.Barrett@scouting.org or 843-763-0305.

• There is a 30-day grace period after membership expiration. If fees have not been paid by then, the scout will be unenrolled, and will need to submit a new application to rejoin. 

Finally, the fees in the past included three parts 1) National Fees, 2) Council Fees, and 3) Pack Fees. Last year the national and council fees added up to $100, and we added $25 for the pack. This year, we are going to decrease our fee to $20, but will need to collect that separately. That link is here (cub-scouts-pack-44.square.site) and will be posted on our website.
