Arriving by air

The Washington, D.C. area is serviced by three airports: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). Taxis and ride share services are available from all three. DCA is closest to Georgetown, at about a fifteen minute drive away from campus.

Arriving by car & parking

Use of public transportation is suggested, as parking around Georgetown can be very difficult. Street parking is limited to two hours and is strictly enforced by police. A limited number of metered spaces are available on Reservoir Road, 37th Street, and Prospect Street.

A limited number of visitor parking spaces are available in the Southwest Garage. To access the garage, take the Canal Road entrance to Georgetown University. Visitors should use 3611 Canal Road NW as the address when mapping directions to the Southwest Garage using GPS.

Public Transportation

Washington, D. C. is served by the Metro Rail subway system as well as multiple bus systems, including Metro Bus and the D.C. Circulator. Georgetown University is located close to multiple Metro Bus routes and Circulator routes. The university is also served by the free Georgetown University Transportation Shuttles (GUTS).
