CTU Toledo Receives Donated SUV from Toledo City LGU for Automotive Instruction

The Cebu Technological University (CTU) Toledo City Campus officially received a donated Ford Everest SUV on March 27, 2025, transferred from the Toledo City Engineering Office to the university campus. A designated tent area was provided to facilitate the safe and organized movement of the vehicle.
The donation was made possible through the initiative of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Toledo City, under the leadership of Mayor Marjorie “Joie” Perales, in collaboration with the Toledo City Engineering Office. The vehicle will be used as an instructional material for the College of Technology’s Automotive Department, enhancing the practical learning experience of students.
The successful transfer was facilitated through the support and assistance of the CTU Toledo City Campus administration, led by Dr. Ramil P. Manguilimotan, Dr. Gengen G. Padillo, and Dr. Eric R. Villarin, together with Dr. Joedel B. Bellete, who coordinated and supervised the movement of the donated vehicle.

CTU-Toledo Expands Automotive Training with Toyota Vios Acquisition

Cebu Technological University – Toledo City Campus (CTU-Toledo) continues to enhance its hands-on training for students in the Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIT) – Automotive Technology program by securing a Toyota Vios as an additional instructional material. This initiative aims to provide students with a more comprehensive understanding of gasoline-engine vehicles, complementing the previously acquired Ford Everest used for diesel engine training.
In a formal request addressed to Toledo City Mayor Hon. Marjorie “Joie” Perales, CTU-Toledo expressed its gratitude for the city’s support in improving technical education. The university sought permission to utilize a 2008 Toyota Vios to enhance practical learning opportunities for students.
According to Campus Director Dr. Ramil P. Maguilimotan, integrating both diesel and gasoline-engine vehicles into the curriculum allows students to develop critical skills such as fuel system diagnostics, ignition system repairs, lubrication system maintenance, suspension troubleshooting, and braking performance assessment.
Mayor Perales, through City Administrator Mae Delia C. Faunlong, approved the request, reinforcing the city's commitment to advancing technical education and workforce readiness.

The faculty of CTU Toledo City Campus participated in a workshop on test construction and the retooling of the Table of Specifications (TOS) on March 24, 2025. The event was spearheaded by Dr. Ramil P. Manguilimotan, Dr. Gengen G. Padillo, Dr. Joedel B. Bellete, and Dr. Eric R. Villarin.
Dr. Padillo emphasized the critical role of the TOS in test development, particularly in summative assessments, ensuring that faculty members align their intended learning outcomes with the content of their respective courses.
