New things are coming!
We are excited because we know that greater things are coming. But before we move forward to what is ahead of us, we would like to share with you what God has done through us, for us, and in us, in Called to Rescue in 2022.
Last year, we had opportunities to expand our reach–both in raising awareness and having more people join us in our fight while being present where we are called.
A lot of doors have opened, and we mean it when we say that we were able to enter them because of the generous support in time, efforts, and resources, of people like you. Thank you for being part of what we are doing in Called to Rescue! Here are some of our major highlights for the year!
A project that we did not see coming.
Without any background (but with a lot of prayers and support), Called to Rescue produced a short film entitled Graduation. Directed by international filmmaker Dean Marcial and starring Donny Pangilinan and Nourijune, Graduation aimed to reach more people and raise awareness of the struggles of survivors reintegrating back into society and the role of the community around them.
We saw that it was necessary to reach the people where they are, and that is online. We hope that being present there opened the eyes of many and touched a part of their hearts to become part of this fight. We are also grateful that with the support of our partners, we were also able to show this in cinemas as part of their pre-roll advertisement with the goal of reaching all.
Through the years, we have seen more and more people heed the call to rescue because of our initiatives. This year was no different.
Through our campaigns (in partnership with 7AD) and events such as School Tour Online, several people responded and have chosen to be part of our organization as volunteers. They saw the need, understood the cause, and embraced the call.
We believe that with the help of these people, we can reach and rescue more in 2023!
REACHING IN
Part of heeding the call is making sure that survivors journey toward healing. Just like the message of Graduation, the rescue is just the beginning. Our heart as an organization is to walk with the survivors and aid in their recovery.
That’s why we are grateful because this year, we’ve had more people come on board as volunteer lawyers, had free counseling sessions, and had more advocates willing to share their expertise to help the survivors toward freedom. We are reaching in, so survivors can encourage and reach out to others.
Along with the new things that God is doing, we would also like to share that the Called to Rescue Team will now be headed by our Operations Officer, Faye De Guzman, RSW, as former CTR Head Abby Anciano will be transitioning to a new season to answer another call to reach out the next generation.
Indeed so much has happened in the past year, but we still have a long way to go! But we will take heart, and we will face 2023 with a renewed vision and passion knowing that this fight is not our own but HIS.
We hope that you will continue to support us as we POUR OUT this 2023! Thank you once again, and we're praying for a fruitful year for all of us!
Sincerely,
Called to Rescue PH Team
