Dr. Wei Lin (林緯 博士)

Chief Technology Officer at Phison Electronics

Short Bio

Dr. Wei Lin serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Phison Electronics, where he oversees technological and product planning, AI technology development, and the development of algorithms related to NAND Flash Memory physics. Dr. Lin has invented over 200 NAND Flash-related patents and has authored numerous scholarly articles in the field. The integrated circuits produced using his patented inventions have exceeded three billion units worldwide.

Dr. Lin earned his Ph.D. from the National Chiao Tung University in Electronics. Previously, he held positions as the CTO and Vice President of CoreStorage, a subsidiary of Phison. He is currently an adjunct assistant professor at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, where he collaborates on industry-academic partnerships to advance storage technology.

Dr. Mark Liao (廖弘源所長 )

Short Bio

Mark Liao received his Ph.D degree in electrical engineering from Northwestern University in 1990. In July 1991, he joined the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Taiwan and currently, is a Distinguished Research Fellow. He has worked in the fields of multimedia signal processing, image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, video forensics, and multimedia protection for more than 30 years.  During 2009-2011, he was the Division Chair of the computer science and information engineering division II, National Science Council of Taiwan. He is jointly appointed as a Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of National Cheng Kung University. During 2009-2012, he was jointly appointed as the Multimedia Information Chair Professor of National Chung Hsing University. Since August 2010, he has been appointed as an Adjunct Chair Professor of Chung Yuan Christian University.  From August 2014 to July 2016, he was appointed as an Honorary Chair Professor of National Sun Yat-sen University.  From November 2016 to November 2019, he was appointed as a Chair Professor of National Chiao-Tung University.  He received the Young Investigators'' Award from Academia Sinica in 1998; the Distinguished Research Award from the National Science Council of Taiwan in 2003, 2010 and 2013; the National Invention Award of Taiwan in 2004; the Distinguished Scholar Research Project Award from National Science Council of Taiwan in 2008; and the Academia Sinica Investigator Award in 2010.  He received the TECO award from the TECO foundation in 2016, and the 64th Academic Award from the Ministry of Education in 2020.  

               His professional activities include:  Co-Chair, 2004 International Conference on Multimedia and Exposition (ICME); Technical Co-chair, 2007 ICME; General Co-Chair, 17th International Conference on Multimedia Modeling; President, Image Processing and Pattern Recognition Society of Taiwan (2006-08); Editorial Board Member, IEEE Signal Processing Magazine (2010-13); Associate Editor, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (2009-13), IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (2009-12), IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (1998-2001), and ACM Computing Surveys (2018-2021).  Since 2021, he has been a Senior Associate Editor of ACM Computing Surveys.  He has been a Fellow of the IEEE since 2013 for contributions to image and video forensics and security.  

Chun-Nan Ke柯俊男

Senior Technique Manager, Compute Acceleration Division, Andes Technology

Chun-Nan Ke obtained master’s degree in electrical engineering from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. He joined the Computer and Communication Laboratory at the Industrial Technology Research Institute during 2000 to 2005, where he participated in the development of Cable Modem Physical Layer Chips. “Efficient carrier synchronization scheme”is published in IEEE Journal during this period. Subsequently, from 2007 to 2022, he actively contributed to the development of GPS Chips and 3GPP Cellphone 5G Modem Vector DSP at Mediatek and Broadcom. In 2023, he joined Andes-Tech to participate in projects related to AI Computation Acceleration. 

Dr. Yueh-Feng Lee李岳峰博士

Manager, Compute Acceleration Division,  Andes Technology

Dr. Yueh-Feng Lee received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from National Chiao Tung University. He previously worked at Mediatek and Industrial Technology Research Institute. His areas of focus include AI compiler and runtime, hypervisor technology, and embedded systems. 

Dr. Chuan-Hua Chang (張傳華博士)

Senior Technical Manager, Google, Advanced CPU Division

Short Bio

Dr. Chuan-Hua Chang brings his extensive experience to his role as a senior technical manager in Google's advanced CPU division. With 28 years dedicated to CPU architecture and development, he has held leadership positions, including Associate VP of Andes Technology and technical manager of a DSP project at ITRI.  Earlier in his career, Chuan-Hua developed his expertise as a CPU architect at Intel and Digital Equipment Corporation/Compaq, where he designed high-performance Out-of-Order CPUs. Dr. Chang's deep technical knowledge is underscored by his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Luba Tang

Founder and CEO, Skymizer Inc.

Short Bio

Luba Tang is the founder and CEO of Skymizer Taiwan Inc., which is in the business of providing system software to IC design teams. Skymizer’s system software solutions enable AI-on-Chip design houses to automate AI application development, improve system performance, and optimize inference accuracy. Luba Tang’s research interests include electronic system level (ESL) design, system software, and neural networks. He had focused on iterative compilers, ahead-of-time compilers, link-time optimization, neural network compilation, and neural network optimization. His most recent work focuses on exploiting various types of parallelism from different accelerators in a hyper-scale system-on-chip.
