Keynote Speaker: Dr. Heather D. Wathington

Chief Executive Officer, iMentor

Dr. Heather Deneen Wathington is the Chief Executive Officer of iMentor. Her background is a unique blend of education, research, and philanthropy that has focused on students in underserved communities. She has served as the past president at Girard College, a historic boarding school in Philadelphia, and the chief executive officer at See Forever Foundation and the Maya Angelou Schools in Washington, DC. Prior to her appointment at the See Forever Foundation, Dr. Wathington was a professor of education at the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia. Dr. Wathington's research spans the areas of college access, matriculation and persistence into higher education as well as postgraduate study and research training. Dr. Wathington has authored more than 50 educational journal articles, reports, and peer reviewed presentations. She serves as a board member for New Futures. Dr. Wathington is a graduate of Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and earned a master's degree in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania. She has her doctorate from the University of Michigan in Higher and Postsecondary Education.

As a Director, he’s worked with some of the world’s most influential brands including Walt Disney Motion Picture Studios, Nickelodeon, LEGO, Universal Music Group, NFL, NBA, BET, REVOLT TV, Comcast/NBC Universal, Xfinity Black Experience, Virginia Is For Lovers, Bentley Motors, Aston Martin and Nextdoor.com.

After finding great success in the business world as a passionate storyteller, Torrance is now actively developing original content (scripted & non-scripted) as well as mentoring, inspiring and educating the next generation of leaders. His core belief is that everyone is a genius, and everyone has genius level talent. Through his entrepreneurial journey, he has realized self- awareness, emotional intelligence (EQ), identifying your passion and activating your Genius Factor, are the ultimate catalysts to launching yourself into a life of happiness and success. Torrance is a published author, who has recently written his first book titled Genius Factor: Make Your Passion Your Paycheck, where he shares life lessons around his Genius Factor Success Methodology for creating a life where work and play are one. Additionally, Torrance is a proud HBCU Alumnus as a graduate of Morehouse College.
