This short-term course on “Current Trends in Condensed Matter Physics” (STC-CTCMP 2020) is being organized to give a detailed introduction to the research areas of current interest in the field of theoretical condensed matter physics. Among the various topics of current interest, course will focus on themes related to quantum liquids (Fermions and Bosons), electronic structure and strongly correlated systems and electron correlation effects in low dimensions. The course is devised in such a way that participants are first introduced to basics of theoretical approaches adopted by researchers for research problems in condensed matter physics, their present status and future perspectives and connection to different experimental observations will be discussed. This will provide the participants with the opportunity of learning the fundamentals and then applying those fundamentals to the research problems. To summarize, following are the objectives of the course:
1. Participants will learn about the fundamentals of condensed matter physics.
2. How to apply the fundamentals to study the research problems of theoretical condensed matter physics ?
3. Participant will learn about aim different worldwide collaboration opportunities and information about the different working group in theoretical condensed matter physics.
4. Participant will be provided some hand on training for simulation codes which are of current interest in the field.
