2021 STEM transfer Summit

Overview

The STEM Transfer Summit is designed to initiate a joint effort within key stakeholders from CSU Stanislaus and community colleges to explore how to improve STEM transfer student success and seamless transitions from community colleges to CSU Stanislaus.

The STEM Transfer Summit will:

• Emphasize transfer student preparation, pre-matriculation advising, and professional development for critical STEM pipeline personnel.

• Help streamline and improve the course articulation process and formalize articulation agreements between CSU Stanislaus and community colleges.

• Provide the latest updates on CSU Stanislaus STEM enrollment, admissions, course-to-course articulation, course sequencing, and General Education and major courses.

• Provide a forum to disseminate information on effective practices in serving STEM students, and explore the intervention of high-impact practices being implemented by the CSU Stanislaus HSI grant.

• Offer networking opportunities between community college representatives and CSU Stanislaus faculty and staff from various STEM disciplines and engage in campus-wide and discipline-specific STEM articulation discussions.

Audience

Deans, counselors, faculty, administrators and all other key stakeholders who are involved in helping STEM students at community colleges and CSU Stanislaus.

• Transfer Student Panel

• Discuss issues regarding STEM articulation agreements

• CSU Stanislaus admissions requirements, enrollment goals, STEM programs, research and grant updates

• Discussion forum to share knowledge and best practices for supporting STEM transfer students at designated institutions
