About us:
Cleveland State Mountaineers is a student run organization at Cleveland State University which focuses on engaging the student body with rock climbing and other mountaineering disciplines. We aim to provide the knowledge, resources, and companions to help students discover adventure and fun in the great outdoors. Join us for weekly outings to local destinations as well as occasional trips across the country!
Our 2022/23 officers:
Following our amazing year in 2021/2022, we are looking forward to even more adventures in 2022/2023! Here are some of the people who will help make that happen:
Micah Vertal | President
Brady Zuccola | Vice President
Mason Briggs | Treasurer
Madison Rodriguez | Secretary
We would love it if you shoot us an email or DM!
What we do:
Plain and simple - we have fun outside while learning useful mountaineering skills! We try to involve as many students as possible, so no experience is required. Clinics/lessons for certain skills are provided upon request.
Rock climbing is our primary focus, but we also participate in:
Hiking
Backpacking
Kayaking
Rafting
Mountain biking
Snow sports
...and even stargazing! Basically, if it's outdoors, we do it.
We also take a few larger trips each year. Here are some of the cool places we've been:
Red River Gorge, KY
New River Gorge, WV
Seneca Rocks, WV
Zion National Park, UT
Yosemite National Park, CA
Red Rock Canyon, NV
White Mountain National Forest, NH
We look forward to having you join us on our next big adventure!
