Whine & Cheese Event:

Imposter Syndrome 10/26/22

During this event, STANCE members, along with the Executive Board, were able to share their experiences & feelings regarding Imposter Syndrome & how it affects mental health.

It is not an easy feat to be able to openly share one's experience, but we've been hopeful about finding comfort in this very intimate event.

No one is alone in this. YOU are not alone.

Social Event:

Scavenger Hunt 10/20/22

STANCE members had the time to socialize, get to know one another, & have some fun!

During this event, they did a Scavenger Hunt with a twist!

Instead of having our hosts name the items to be found, they gave out riddles instead for members to guess!

Grad School Panel 9/28/22

STANCE was joined by current grad students from CSUF, CSULA, Chapman, West Coast University, and SFSU to talk about all things grad school! Participants heard about the application process and got all the tips and tricks to make their application stand out.

Cultural Event:

Sugar Skulls 9/15/22

Members were able to learn more about the Hispanic Holiday Día de los Muertos and draw their own sugar skulls in our first cultural event of the year!

Speech Dating Event 02.24.22

This is an event where students get to know the COMD professors and peers! Students are allotted time to ask professors anything they want to know or learn more about when it comes to the COMD field or simply getting to know their professors on a more personal level!

Questions can range from how a professor got into the field or what their favorite movie is!

Guest Speaker: Lola Brito 03.08.21

At this social event, we had a special guest from Columbia, Lola Brito! She is an audiologist based in Columbia and shared her insight with our members!

Whine & Cheese 03.24.22

This Whine & Cheese Discussion's topic was "Microaggressions" and students were able to discuss and share their thoughts or experiences when it comes to this topic!

Guest Speaker: Paula Caruzzo 04.14.22

At this social event, we had special guest Paula Caruzzo who spoke about her experience with cerebal palsy as a Latin American woman and the things she stands for like inclusive fashion, and disability rights.

Social Event: Garden Party

At this social event, we made succulent terrariums! This was our first ever in-person social event! We got to chit chat with members while we all curated our own terrariums!
