KAITLIN CHHENG
Major: B.A. Music Education, Choral Emphasis
Minor: Speech Communication Studies
Expected Graduating Class: 2026
Passionate about people and learning, Kaitlin enjoys volunteering for choral music festivals, attending professional workshops, and observing teachers in action. Broadening her musical experience and expertise, Kaitlin has performed with various California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) ensembles including the Titan Voices, Concert Choir, Jazz Singers, and Opera Theatre program. She received the Outstanding Titan Voices Member Award in 2023 as the Soprano II section leader, and currently serves as the Concert Choir Soprano I section leader. Active in her work, Kaitlin supports the CSUF School of Music as the Vocal Area Undergraduate Assistant, and annually serves as an Honor Choir Lead Chaperone for the California Choral Director's Association (CCDA). Previously, she has held the ACDA CSUF Student Chapter positions of Fundraising Chair and Diversity/Education Board. In her spare time, Kaitlin enjoys painting landscapes, taking nature walks, and getting lost in a good book.
JOHN NGUYEN
Major: B.A. Music Education, Choral Emphasis
Expected Graduating Class: 2026
John began his studies in music education at College of the Canyons, where he is an alumni of College of the Canyons Chamber Singers under the direction of Lori Marie Rios. Graduating with an associates degree in music in 2023, John began his studies at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), in the Fall of 2023 where he has performed in several ensembles such as the Singing Titans (where he received the award for Outstanding Singing Titan Member 2024) , Treble Jazz Choir (Under the direction of Bekka Knauer), Opera Theatre program, and Concert Choir where he currently serves as the Section leader for the Tenor I Section. Throughout his career at CSUF, John has served as the AICC Representative and Treasurer before taking on the mantle of Vice President for ACDA. He also serves as the Choirister for the Beta Alpha chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon at CSUF. During his free time, John volunteers as the appointed web editor for the California Choral Director's Association (CCDA).
QUINTESSA WEDELL
Major: B.A. Music Education, Choral Emphasis
Expected Graduating Class: 2027
Quintessa’s love of choral music started in elementary school when she joined the Southern California Children’s Chorus (SCCC). She had many performance and leadership opportunities which led her to pursue Choral Music Education at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). During her time at the university, Quintessa has performed in different ensembles including University Singers, Opera Theatre, and Jazz Singers. In addition to vocal and choral studies, Quintessa is an avid cellist and has performed with the CSUF Symphony Orchestra and Cello Choir. She currently works as a teacher at Neighborhood Music School in their elementary string program and performs locally as a hired singer and cellist. Previous positions have included Assistant Teacher and Cello Coach at Harmony Project in Long Beach and Co-Director of Apprentice Chorus at SCCC. Quintessa is the current Vice President of Mu Phi Epsilon’s Beta Alpha Chapter, Treasurer of the ACDA Student Chapter, and holds research grants working with musicologists and music educators. She is excited to continue her journey as a choral music educator and instrumentalist!

Justin Parron began studying music at Long Beach City College where he served as an assistant director for Viking singers and section leader for the Lyrical workers. Upon his first year transferring to California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) he served as the Tenor I section leader in Concert Choir, joined ACDA, and became a proud member of Mu Phi Epsilon. He is most excited for his second year at CSUF as board member while he prepares to sing with Concert Choir at Western Division ACDA.
JACOB ELLIS
Major: B.A. Music Education, Choral Emphasis
Minor: Child Development
Expected Graduating Class: 2028
Jacob is in his second year at CSUF, he enjoys working with kids and singing in choral ensembles. During his time at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) he has been a proud member of Singing Titans, Jazz Singers, Concert choir, and Variety Voices (Under the direction of former ACDA president and Alum Bryce Rivera). This past spring, he also served the yearly California All-State Music Education Conference (CASMEC) as a Chaperone for the Junior High SSAA All-State Honor Choir on behalf of the ACDA CSUF Student Chapter. When he’s not singing or volunteering he’s out with his camera as a part time photographer!
JACOB GOMEZ

Jacob is eager to study choral music, attending classes by various conductors to learn different directing and teaching styles. During his time at Cal State University, Fullerton (CSUF), Jacob has performed with the Singing Titans (where he was named Outstanding Singing Titan Member 2025), Jazz Singers, Opera Theatre program, and Concert Choir. In his time spent singing with these groups, he has been able to expand his vocal talents, and learn how to perform with both small and large ensembles. Jacob loves to volunteer for the CSUF School of Music in his free time, helping out with various festivals and events!
MILENA LEONIS
Major: B.A. Music Education, Choral Emphasis
Expected Graduating Class: 2028
Whether it’s singing or dancing, Milena is a hardworking and dedicated performer. For over 17 years, she has danced with the Basque Community which fostered her love for music and singing. Upon entering the Ayala High School choral program, she was introduced to the art of choral singing and fell in love not only with the music, but also with the kind, supportive community that followed. Throughout her tenure, she served as a student officer, leading as the Choir President her senior year. She has performed in multiple Southern California Vocal Association (SVCA) Festivals as well as performing at Carnegie Hall. Currently, she sings with California State University Fullerton, Titan Voices. She has been an active volunteering for CSUF Choral Music Festivals, building new friendships and learning about the behind-the-scenes of festival work. Alongside her ACDA student chapter, Milena also served as a Chaperone for the Junior High SSAA Honor Choir this past California All-State Music Education Conference (CASMEC) 2025. Extremely passionate, Milena is always eager to learn and see what fun adventures await!
NICOLE RODRIGUEZ
Major: B.M. Vocal Performance
Expected Graduating Class: 2027
Nicole began her career at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) in 2023 as a Vocal Performance Major. Throughout her time here, she has performed in both the Titan Voices and Concert Choir Ensembles along with CSUF's Opera Theatre program. As a member of Mu Phi Epsilon, Nicole is a major advocate for community service and enjoys volunteering and helping out those in her surrounding communities. She enjoys singing for Christ Cathedral, of which she is a regular volunteer choir member. This is Nicole's second year proudly serving as the Arts Inter-Club Council Representative for the ACDA Student Chapter.
MELISSA ALVARADO
Major: B.A. Music Education, Choral Emphasis
Expected Graduating Class: 2028
Passionate, creative, and dedicated, Melissa aspires to create change in the world with music. Her love of creating community through choral music was fostered at Garden Grove High School, under the direction of Amanda Mitton, where she served as Assistant Student Director her senior year. Melissa is in her second year at Cal State Fullerton, and has performed with the Titan Voices (where she currently serves as the PR representative along with Milena Leonis). Additionally, she has joined the Opera Theatre program, where she will be performing in Albert Herring in the Spring 2026 semester. Dedicated to giving back to her community, she is in her second year working as a Choreographer/Director/Vocal Coach for GGHS’s after school Musical Theatre Program.
DR. CHRISTOPHER PETERSON
Christopher Peterson is the Choral Music Education Area Coordinator and a Professor of Music at California State University, Fullerton. He directs the CSUF Concert Choir and Singing Titans, and teaches undergraduate and graduate classes in choral music education. Throughout his career, he has taught all ages and settings, and is an outstanding music educator who has been invited to teach, judge, and conduct around the globe. Through Hal Leonard Music, Dr. Peterson is also a published author, editor, composer, and choral arranger. In 2021, he published his very own choral methods college textbook Resonance: The Art of the Choral Music Educator with Pavane Publishing. An active community member, Dr. Peterson has served in various offices for different music education associations including California Music Education Association (CMEA), National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and California Choral Directors Association (CCDA). Currently, he also directs music at the Irvine United Congregational Church in Irvine, CA. Dr. Peterson earned the Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of Southern Maine, and the Master of Music in Choral Conducting performance from the University of Maine. Studying with Rodney Eichenberger, Andre Thomas, and Clifford Madsen, he earned the Doctor of Philosophy in Choral Music Education and Conducting from Florida State University. In his free time, Chris enjoys making stained glass and singing barbershop.
