Professionalism and Courage From the Start

Since the inception of female sports programs at Clayton State, our Lady Laker Athletes continue to make their mark on the fields, courts, paths, and tracks they compete on.  From successfully winning championships in the Peach Belt Conference and NCAA Divison II conferences, female athletes exhibit professionalism, skill, passion, and courage whenever they represent Clayton State in sporting competitions. The Women's Basketball Program was the first female sports program offered at Clayton State College in 1991, after the inaugural year of the men's basketball program in 1990.  Today Clayton State's women's athletic program also includes cross country, soccer, tennis, cheer, track & field.

This exhibit highlights information on inaugural seasons, wins, stats, player bios, championships, and artifacts from each women's athletic program's history.  All materials presented in the exhibition are from the UA /14 Athletics Record Group of the Clayton State University Archives.
