CoSubmitting Summer (CSS) Workshop

at ICLR 2022

[Workshop Page on ICLR Virtual Site] (ICLR registration needed)

A half-day workshop celebrating and summarizing our progress on the Broadening Participation initiative, launched in summer 2021 by the DEI chairs of ICLR 2022.

We are proud to say that all speakers at this workshop are actual participants who met our requirement as underrepresented, underprivileged, or individual researchers as well as first-time submitters, whose projects have been funded by this initiative.

So no, we don't just invite "famous names."

Listen to Rosanne and Krystal's presentation as DEI Chairs at the ICLR 2022 Opening Remarks.

The CSS program was launched in August 2021, as part of the Broadening Participation initiative, to create a community, environment, and infrastructure for underrepresented, underprivileged and first-time submitters to engage in research.

We attracted 750+ participants, funded 55 projects, all led by underrepresented researchers, which resulted in 15+ paper submissions, not only to ICLR, but to many other sister conferences and workshops.

The goal of this workshop is to reflect, document, and celebrate projects initiated from the and plan our roads forward.
We will hear stories, victories and defeats, about how projects get started, collaborators found and lost, ideas tried and succeeded and failed, and everything else.

*All times are local Pacific Time (PST), UTC-8*

Date: Friday 29 April 2022
