The Special Response Team is a specialized team that gives support in critical field operations where extensive negotiations and/or specific tactical deployment tactics appear to be required beyond the capacity of field officers. The Special Response Team is a specially trained and equipped group of law enforcement officers who work as a coordinated team to resolve critical incidents that are too dangerous, complex, or unusual for first responders or investigative units to handle, such as high-risk warrants, hostage-taking, barricaded suspects, bomb threats, snipers, terrorist acts, and other high-risk incidents.
