Septic systems are designed for rural wastewater treatment.  A septic tank is installed underground and is a chamber that can be made of concreate, fiberglass or plastic that treats domestic/household wastewater. The system uses biology to reduce solids and organics before water is filtered through the soil in a leaching field.  These are simple, on site sewage facilities. Residence with septic systems are responsible for upkeep and repairs. Failure to keep septic systems properly can result in fines for pollution.
