CLOUD ⇨ RIVER/STREAM

What’s the Story?

PLUNK! Precipitation falls from the clouds, landing with a “plunk” into a river! Rivers are long stretches of flowing water that travel across the land with the force of gravity, moving the water downhill towards a lake, the confluence of another river, a sea, or an ocean. The start of a river is called the “headwaters” and the end is called the “mouth.” Rivers are important wildlife habitats, sources of drinking water and food for people, and ways of transportation for goods and people. They also are often used by industry and to produce hydroelectric energy, as well as providing great opportunities for recreation!
