Saoud Al-Hamad received the B. Sc. degree in civil engineering from University of Colorado, USA, in 2012, and the M.Sc. degree in civil engineering with merit from the University of East London, UK, in 2018, where he has conducted a study on possibilities for increased pedestrian and cyclist safety at intersections and the diagonal crossing hybrid intersection. In 2013, he joined the Qatari Ministry of Interior where he received training as a member of the police force, after which he was promoted to a Lieutenant and received his post as a planning officer with the Ministry of Interior's Traffic Safety Department. In 2014, he worked as an assistant project leader on secondment with Ashghal's Expressways Department, in which he overlooked construction progress and conducted design approvals and inspections on Lusail and A/B Rings Expressways projects. He was assigned to a training attachment in Singapore, where he explored the Singaporean traffic policing experience with Singaporean Police Force. In 2016, Eng. Saoud was promoted to his current post as a First Lieutenant in the Traffic Safety Department.
