This project is To help shed light on the over usage of Social media. Social Media is so prevalent in todays age that Many Have various problems Due to using it too much, this project is for Self analysis and correction if necessary.
I chose this statistic because of the Shear percentage that is shown, especially amongst the younger generation, that is Ages 18 - 29. This relates to me because I'm in that age ranged group, and i can say i use Youtube quit a bit for a variety of different reasons. But i also can say that I have a Family member above 65 and they Definitely DON'T use Youtube nearly as much. I just found it interesting and it just stuck out to me that the statistics Shown here are actually accurate. and i can see it here amongst My Family. Being able to see the statistics Live and in person is Cool.
I Believe that social media has a great impact on Society today, As i previously stated, Social media is super prevalent in todays age, and is so Accessible as well. From you tube, to TikTok, to Instagram, It has the potential to be either a Big help, or a big distraction. I Think if us as users really took the time to monitor how often and how frequently we use social media, we can use it for its original intended purpose, that is as a tool to help us move forward in Our life, to be more productive, gain knowledge, and Understandings on some things we may need help understanding. But that's only if we put forth the proper effort to do this. Because right now that's not at all where we are. Social media I think Hurts a lot more people than it helps, and again this is a result of The Users choices. I think that in reality, its us that really need to be Addressed, not the platforms themselves.
I Learned That Social Media Can be a bad thing for you, and in some extreme cases can literally Degrade a persons quality of life. But We can fix this by changing the way we view and Act as it relates to social media usage. Decreasing our average screen times, spending less time scrolling, and spending more time Living.
