A. Account & Authentication Information (Optional)
Creating an account is optional. If you choose to sign up or sign in using Email and Password or Google Sign-In, we collect:
Your Email Address
Your Google ID and Full Name (if signing in via Google Sign-In)
An encrypted User ID (UUID)
Purpose: This information is used strictly to authenticate your identity, synchronize your favorite hymns/keerthanes across devices, and manage your user profile.
B. Analytics & App Performance Data
To improve app stability, fix bugs, and enhance user experience, we collect usage telemetry using PostHog and Firebase Analytics:
App Interactions: Screen views, hymn searches, audio playback controls, theme selections, and feature usage.
Device Telemetry: Device model, Android OS version, app version, language preferences, and crash diagnostic logs.
Session Telemetry & Replay: We use PostHog Session Replay to analyze app layout interactions and diagnose UI glitches. All password and sensitive text fields are automatically redacted and masked.
C. Push Notification Tokens
If you grant notification permissions on your device, we use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send important announcements, hymn updates, and daily devotionals:
FCM Registration Token: An anonymous device token generated by Google Firebase to route push notifications to your device.
D. Device Permissions
Internet Access: Used to download hymn updates, stream audio files, sync account data, and deliver push notifications.
Notification Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to display notification alerts on Android 13+. You can disable this anytime in your device settings.
Vibration & Haptics: Used solely to provide tactile feedback during user interaction.
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
App Functionality: Streaming hymn audio, displaying lyrics, searching songs, and storing user preferences.
Account Syncing: Storing your bookmarked hymns and keerthanes.
Communication: Sending push notifications about new features, song additions, and announcements.
Performance & Stability: Identifying app crashes, optimizing audio streaming, and improving app design.
Support & Feedback: Processing bug reports or support tickets submitted via Atlassian Jira integration.
We integrate trusted third-party service providers to power specific app functionality. These services process data strictly according to their respective privacy policies:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties or advertising networks.
Encryption: All data transmitted between the app and backend services is encrypted using Industry-Standard HTTPS / TLS encryption.
Local Storage: Your preferences, font settings, and offline hymn data are stored locally on your device.
Secure Cloud: Account profiles and push tokens are stored in encrypted databases hosted on Supabase and Firebase.
You have full control over your data. You may request the deletion of your account and associated data at any time:
In-App Deletion: Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account.
Email Request: Email us at reyziecrafts@gmail.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request".
Upon receiving your request, we will permanently delete your account profile, stored favorites, and associated telemetry data within 7 days.
The CSI Hymns Book app is designed for general audiences of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app features or legal requirements. We will notify users of any significant updates by updating the policy in the app and updating the effective date above.
