From a student 2026
I still have the ChatGPT generated practice tests HERE. They were all actually substantially harder than the real deal. Please feel free to download and share with future students.
What I would recommend for said future students to do to prepare is the following: Do all your regular prep until a week before the test. Disclaimer: Practice tests 2-4 were harder than the real deal, so don't get scared if you don't know stuff. Learn from it, you never know what the real deal will through at you.
Day 1 - Take practice test 1. Go back through and check your answers learning and figuring out where you went wrong. Do this practice test in a 75min window, you will want 45min for the short answer. This best simulates the real deal. But again, go back and fix/relearn what you missed. Use either a tutor or the paid version of ChatGPT Plus(20$ for a month) to help you where you don't understand what you got wrong. Have a notebook of the stuff you need to remember and study it right before bed. Helps with long term memory consolidation.
Day 2- Take practice test #2 at the same time that your appointment is. Give yourself exactly the same 2 hours of the real test. Once again, go back through check your answers learning and figuring out where you went wrong. Study your notebook before bed.
Day 3- Take a whole day off. Don't study. Don't think about chemistry. You want to go into this from a place of rest. This is calculated. At most just go over your notebook before bed again.
Day 4- Basically repeat #2 just with practice test #3, just finding new things you need to work on. Find and fix your mistakes using help. Study before bed
Day 5- Repeat 2-3 but with practice test #4. Find new things you need to work on. Find and fix your mistakes using help. Study before bed.
Day 6- Take test. Your body and mind are ready.
Remember these are all harder than the real deal was for me, but when I got to the real deal it felt EASY. Don't forget to use that on screen calculator practice
While I don't remember exact questions from the MC section, I do remember my short answer questions very well.
1. 3 different salts, RbI, NaCl, MgO with different melting points.
Compare and contrast and explain why there is such a dramatic difference in boiling points.
2. Mix HCl and NaOH. Write equation, calculate enthalpy using a given final density to calculate Mass and a graph to get temperatures for Delta T
3. Analyze an enthalpy graph. Is it an endothermic or exothermic reaction, explain that as well as what and how a Catalyst affects things
