Welcome to SDGTAIS2024

The fourth industrial revolution “Industry 4.0”, with its automation, digitization and exponential technologies is changing the landscape of the industry and the society and evolving rapidly into Industry 5.0 to be more human-centric, sustainable, agile and resilient. It is characterized by optimization and management of assets, sharing and security of big data, data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is the transformation from physical to digital: the “Digital Twin”. Industry 5.0 is going beyond affecting mainly the manufacturing sector by addressing the total enterprise and the society in order to achieve a “Smart-Digital-Green (SDG) Enterprise and Society”. Compared to the previous revolutions, SDG Transformation (or Industry X.0) will be characterized by: real-time connectivity, speed of implementation and major culture change.

In addition, this ongoing revolution will drive a major change in tomorrow’s workforce in order to have them ready for a rapidly evolving business environment. Some jobs will disappear; hence companies have to protect their workforce and not the jobs, by continuous re-skilling, up-skilling and cross-skilling. Educational institutions need to respond to those needs, by providing broader skill sets and by closing the gap in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills.

The Smart-Digital-Green (SDG) International (SDGi) was created in November 2023 by eight countries to respond to the above technological and workforce challenges. The eight countries are Canada, Egypt, France, Morocco, Togo, Tunisia, UAE and Vietnam, with the following mission:

“The SDG International (SDGi) aims to create a network of academics and business leaders working together to develop intelligent and digital systems that respect the environment in line with the societal needs and aspirations to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations.”

SDGi is pleased to announce its First International Conference in partnership with the Third International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Sciences and Applications, technically sponsored by IEEE, to be held on December 9 to 11, 2024 at Galala University, in the region of Suez (Red Sea) at about 150 kms from Cairo.

The three days event will focus on the application of the latest technologies such as AI, IoT, Digital Twin, Cyber Security, 3D Printing, Simulation, Inter-Disciplinarity, etc. into the Manufacturing, Health and Business sectors.

Articles are solicited with special emphasis on collaboration a) with the above three sectors, b) between institutions in the same countries, c) between institutions in different countries and d) between the three sectors (Inter-Disciplinarity).

A SDGi Students Competition will be held at various countries to select the top two SDG innovative projects at each country, to be the finalists at the December conference.

We look forward to have you joining our Smart, Digital and Green International Conference
