ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
What time should I arrive for Monday? Please arrive between 8a and 845a for breakfast and registration. We'll kick off the day at 9a.
Where should I park? Park in the Riverside Street Lot with its entrance on Sparks Street. You won't need a parking pass. Then walk up the street to Olsen Hall, 198 Riverside St., Lowell MA. The workshop is in room 102, on the first floor (go in the main doors and turn left).

What should I bring? Please bring your own laptop.
And if you have an Android phone, please install the MIT AI2 Companion app for use with App Inventor on Tuesday.
If you don't have a laptop, or you don't have an Android phone, do not worry! We will have Chromebooks and Android tablets available for loan for the duration of the workshop.
Will there be WiFi at the workshop? Yes! We will provide log-in details when you arrive.
TRAVEL
For direct arrivals to the workshop, when and where should we arrive? Please come directly to the workshop, which is located at Olsen Hall, 198 Riverside St, Lowell MA. Park in the Riverside Street Lot with its entrance on Sparks Street. You don't need a parking pass.
Breakfast will be served at 8a each day. For Monday, please arrive no later than 845a for our 9a start. Tue thru Thu, we kick off each day at 830a.
If you are staying over at UMass Lowell, you must check in after the Monday workshop closes. Check-in will be between 4p and 5p.
For Sunday arrivals at River Hawk Village, what time may we arrive? Please arrive between 4p and 9p. According to Google Maps, 39 Perkins St takes you to the main entrance. Please park in the Hall Street Garage (instructions below), and then walk to the entrance (photo below).
Where do we park for River Hawk Village? You will park at Hall Street Garage. Its entrance is on Hall Street, which is parallel to Perkins St. According to Google Maps, 27 Hall Street brings you to the garage entrance. As you pull into Hall Street Garage, you'll see signs directing you towards River Hawk Village for check-in.
Do we need to bring sheets and towels? We will supply these, so no need! You may bring soap and shampoo if you like (we'll have the usual hotel sizes available too).
Are there kitchens? May we cook? Each unit has a full kitchen, but if you want to cook you'll have to bring all the supplies—plates, utensils, cookware, and cleaning supplies.
What about internet? There will be WiFi at River Hawk Village! We'll provide you with a login for the duration of your stay.
What are the accommodations like? Here is a 3D virtual walk through of a River Hawk Village apartment.
Is there air conditioning? Yes, indeed! These units were built out as full apartments.
How should I get from River Hawk Village to the workshop? It's a 6-min drive or a 21-min walk. It's a nice walk, over the new bridge and over the Merrimack River. If walking, your destination is 198 Riverside St / Olsen Hall. See walking map below.
If driving, please go to the Riverside Lot / Sparks St entrance as noted at the top of the page. Note you’ll need 5 mins to walk from the lot to Olsen.
