Every Monday, when classes are in session, we hold a morning prayer service on behalf of the UTC community in Danforth Chapel. This semester we meet at 8:30 a.m. You are invited to join us. The service lasts about 15 to 20 minutes.
We continue into 2025 our monthly meetings to read through the series of sermons and essays by C. S. Lewis, published under the title The Weight of Glory. We will meet at The Livingstone Cafe, visit here. The Society operates under the auspices of the Study Center. For more details about the meetings, visit cslewischattanooga.org.

Under the auspices of the Christian Study Center of Chattanooga, The C. S. Lewis Society of Chattanooga is pleased to again present a series of monthly lectures at the Livingstone Coffee Shop for the summer. Our plan for lectures is as follows:
June 25, lecture will be by Dr. C. Ben Mitchell, entitled “Lewis and a Post-human Future.”
Tuesday, July 16, lecture by Dr. Bryan Hampton of UTC, on Lewis's book The Abolition of Man.
Tuesday, August 13, lecture by Rev. David Beckmann: "The LeFay Fragment: Lewis's first attempt at a sequel to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
The lectures begin at 7:00 p.m., with the coffee shop opening at 6:30. The Livingstone Coffee shop is located at 420 South Willow Street, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

On Thursday evening, 11 April, we hosted a lecture by the Oxford, UK, CS Lewis scholar, Dr. Michael Ward. The event was held in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 554 McCallie Ave, in downtown Chattanooga. Dr. Ward's topic was "C. S. Lewis on Reason and Imagination in Religion and Science." Dr. Ward is the author of several important works on Lewis, including his renowned Planet Narnia. On Thursday, 2 Nov., 2023, Rev. Beckmann will give a lecture on the topic of whether or not C. S. Lewis believed in evolution. This is the same lecture given this past summer at Livingstones cafe. The lecture is primarily for UTC students, but the general public is invited. The event will be held at the Young Life building, located at 757 East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Chattanooga. There is no cost to attend. The lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m.; time for Q&A will follow.
Posted, 20 Sept '23: This is a book reading-discussion to take place during the Fall '23 semester at The House, on the UTC campus. We will read Book 3 of Mere Christianity: "Christian Behaviour." Schedule: Mondays, noon to 1:00 p.m. Food and books are free.
On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, we held a free showing of the recent movie, "The Most Reluctant Convert," about the theistic conversion of CS Lewis. The movie was shown at the Young Life building, 757 East Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. at the UTC campus. 40 people attended and the movie was much appreciated.
