I've been researching network virtualization and its applications in industry. Another major portion of my research has consisted of reading papers and studies on Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs). The papers included in my reading over the last two weeks are listed below:

Logbook 3: february 28
I visited a local Information Technology consulting firm, Lynxedge Solutions, to view Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches and how VLANs are implemented in practice. It was surprising to see how large the Layer 3 switch was in reality. I was able to ask any questions I had about Virtual Local Area Networks, as well as on the basics of network virtualization. The notes I took as part of that visit are found below:
