In this event researchers from the Universities of Bath, East Anglia, Newcastle, and Royal Holloway will present results of recent research testing the benefits of Stoic ideas and practices, as well as discussing theoretical issues surrounding such work. Speakers include Michael Barr (Newcastle), Gary Brown (RHUL), Alex MacLellan (Bath), Toby Newson (RHUL), and Joel Owen (UEA). There will also be a roundtable discussion about what is being tested (wellbeing, happiness, eudaimonia) and how to do it.
This will be the second annual conference of the Centre for the Study and Application of Stoicism.
